    14 or 16 ft trolling rods ?
    Biggest crappie to date is 3 lb 9 oz at grenada in 1988. Still hangs on my wall.

    I like 14 ft but my partner likes 16. To each one's preferences.

    If you have enuff boat then 16s, 16s are a pain in a short rig tho.

    I would rather use 12' for ease of handling but seem to go more toward 14' now just to get a little farther from the boat/

    16'ers for everything. I use 3 different sets of em.

    I think that 16s have an advantage over 14s when the fish are shallow but the 14s are easier to handle. I sometimes miss my 12s when using 14s.
