When using BAITCASTER reels spider rigging, I have noticed that some of the better fishermen have the reels and guides pointed down, instead of the usual upright position. How many folks do this?

Always down....crappie poles are designed to fish eyes down.

Up with the top section twisted so that the eyes on it face down. Want to be able to put my thumb on the thumb bar when I pick the rod up.

I fish with mine down, I think, just me, that my line will not tangle with the tip as bad. Scott likes his up and he still looks at me funny sometimes when he has to grab one of my poles.

I keep my eyes straight ahead, focused on the rod tips and line. Unless there's a pontoon full of bikini clad eye candy near by. :D
