I'm retired, on Medicare and my wife is not on Medicare. We have Medical Mutual Basic (pays nothing till we reach over $6,000.00) and costs us $1026.00/month auto pay out of my $2400.00 retirement. We pay $67.00/month for a dental plan that only pays for simple stuff. I've been retired since 2012 and the insurance company has never paid a dime toward anything. It's a cash cow due to the obamacare fiasco. That's why none of the politicians are on it. If you were an illegal alien it would be free. My Great Grandfather was a bricklayer. Back in the 50's he said he was was too cheap to go to the dentist. He would take a bottle of whiskey, a screwdriver and needle-nose pliers, sit on the front, and pull his own teeth. He pried it up with the screwdriver pulled it, then used the whiskey as mouthwash and pain killer while all the kids sat and watched. Good old days??????? I do not advise it.

Update, I went to the new dentist. The new plan Is to extract 12 teeth and make an upper and lower partial. I chipped my two front teeth when I was a young lad. They have been that way since. while we are removing teeth we're going to remove them and replace with the partial. It's a little cheaper than the 5400 I was quoted at the other place and a lot closer to home. This procedure will cost 4000 even. Because I'm a 44 year old baby he gave me a rx for Xanax. I sure hope it helps to calm the nerves. I'm not a fan of the dentist and to be honest I'm a little scared about the whole thing. I have already had the impressions made. So next Friday morning at 8 am it all goes down. So those that are of a spiritual mind, send one up for me while your sending. Give me strength to behave like a man and not run out screaming in a hysterical panic.

Just a suggested - call a dental college - they use these cases for training purposes to teach new dentists all under supervision of a licensed Dentist. With the anxiety issues supervised students doing the work might be a last resort. Anyway just a suggestion. It's like going to the Beauty College for my haircut $4 bucks and its great but the supervisors watch every move.

Well, tomorrow is the day. As of 8am in the morning I will either be sitting in the dentist chair or running down 78 hwy in a hysterical panic. They gave me Xanax for my phobia. I hope it works. I've never taken any anxiety meds so I don't know how it will effect me. I hope I can get thru this with a tiny bit of dignity left. Wish me luck.
