    Default Central Alabama Fishing Locations?

Hey everyone. I'm completely new to crappie fishing. I live about 30 miles north of Birmingham around the Hayden/Warrior area. I would just like to know where some good fishing can be done around my area. It's about a 35 minute drive to Smith Lake from where I live and I plan to fish there, but I don't know where else I should go. I'll be fishing out of a 12' flat bottom boat as well as from the bank. I'm willing to drive up to 2 hours away for some good fishing, I will greatly appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

You have a lot of choices if you have a motor. There's Guntersville, Inland lake, Weiss, Neely Henry, Bankhead, Wheeler, Lay lake, Jordan lake, Logan Martin, Bear Creek and the Tennessee river. All would be within an hour or so. I'm sure there's more I missed. Get an Alabama map and see what's close to you then try to get with some guys to help you out. From Hayden/Warrior your in a good location to be centrally located from a lot of options.

Not real familiar with that area but I think the Warrior river will be the closest lake/river to you

Welcome aboard! You'll find your new pursuit to be a great one over the years. What Superfly said above just about covers you! Not sure those are one hour but certainly 2 hrs. Flint Creek, Limestone Creek and Cataco Creeks all around Decatur are good places for a flat bottom with a motor.
