Just looking for some ideas on where to start when it comes to fishing the lake. depths/patterns to look for, jigs or minnows, any info really. not looking for spots just general info on how to fish the lake and what to key in on. me and a buddy have got the itch bad to wet a line, but the frozen hell known as missouri isn't helping matters. we usually fish sardis and enid about 4-5 times a yr so we are looking to expand on our knowledge of other lakes plus get somewhere warm for awhile. we will b spider rigging.

Crappiecon, The rez is my home lake, I'm no professorial but do have a couple places that do produce fish. What time of the year do you plan on coming down?

Barnett is a unique lake. I could send 4 good fisherman out on any given day and all 4 return with fish caught on a different pattern. I'll be glad to help get you started. When are you coming down?

sorry i should have said when we were gonna fish. was thinking of coming possibly this coming wkend or in the next few wks. weather permitting that is. he and i fished our first tourney on ky lake last spring and are planning on fishing it as well as few more this season. really just needing to get the kinks of a new season lined out. its not looking like we will be able to fish close to home anytime soon.

Put in at Tommys trading post and go to the 43 bridge. Look where the other 50-212 boats are and pile in the middle. Medium minners on a small hook. they'll be 7 foot deep one day in 30 FOW and on the bottom in 20 FOW the next. You catch fish on barnett, you know what you're doing. Just saw your message about this weekend. 2 words. WELFARE HOLE. Go under that 43 bridge and hang a left. You'll see the other boats

2nd week or march through late april is good on barnett. I catch my biggest ones from now til the first week of april.

Thanks for the info DonDon. Sounds like it can be a pretty hit or miss lake from day to day. Looks like we won't be able to make it this wkend. I've got to work fri night now and have some things to get done around here before spring sets in. Hopefully sometime n the next month or so we can get down that way. Get to barnett bout mid March or a couple weeks later n you can w at then out. Hard tofind them though
