Look on Google Earth for the next bridge above Hey 14 and plot a route from that. It's called Lorraine Park and it's managed by Calcasieu Parish. Nice ramp there. Go South and when you get to Hwy 14 you can get down and check that chancy ramp out there. It's rough with very little parking. I launch my yak there and a few folks with 4x4 use it with trailers. I launch at Lorraine Park too. At times you can catch fish to the North of there too.

Hey Mermentau thanks I sent him a PM with my number too. I launch at 14 and it isn't bad right now but when the water goes back up to normal levels the launch won't be easy to launch. Right now it is perfect but it is too deep a ramp for higher water levels. It looks like there isn't enough slope to the drop off.

Yep we've been on the dry side for a while. I'm afraid that a lot of rain and it's going to get soft in addition to what you said. The road can really get soft too as the water ponds in the middle under the bridge with no way to drain out. Parking could get difficult if everybody shows up on the same day.

That's true That whole place is going to sink. They should of taken take the old road bed on the south side and push it down and made the south side parking. There is a lot of dirt and rock that hill. But you know the state's thinking do it half way and twice. But hey who is to complain I have a launch and 20 minutes of run time saved when I want to go as far as Cane Island. If it gets bad then I will have me a private launch. Those buck shots on my Tacoma aren't just for looks....lol
