Most of the time I have something hooked to my bumper pulling around so I went with something built to pull loads. Been bad weather ever since and I'm wanting to see how it does. Don't think that 22' camper will be any trouble.

Butch,I replaced the trans in my 04 F150 a couple months ago, I went with a a factory remanufactured trans rather than a local rebuild came with a 3 year 100K mile warranty. Fast forward to 2 weeks ago they were doing a tune up and found the intake manifold was leaking coolant a $700 repair. The message here is look the truck over to see what else might die in the near future, it may be cheaper to replace the truck. I wish now that I'd sold this one and used the cash to help buy another new or newer truck. Just my 2 cents for what it's worth
Hate to hear about your truck problems Butch. I'm a Ford man too, but I have lots of friends that are Chevy all the way.
That's a good looking ride Ronnie. You shouldn't have any trouble pulling anything!
Hooking up every chance I get!
Butch, I have a friend that rebuilds engines, or installs crate engines, whichever the customer prefers. Wade Dunnaway of Dunnaways Rebuilt Engines. He is a great guy. In Washington GA.

Thanks for all your recommendations. I dropped in by my mechanic today and paid for a crate motor to be sent. He'll have my truck back to me sometimes next week to 10 days (I hope). It'll have a 100K/3 years warranty on everything (parts and labor). I like my truck and felt it was my cheapest way out was fixing it. I just hope nothing else goes wrong. My truck only has 127K on it.
Ronnie, I aint any make of truck man...I've owned 'em all. The Fords as well as the Chevs and Rams are some good looking trucks. If I was in the market it would problably depend on which I could get the best deal on, as always. With that 6.0 I'd doubt that you'll even know that camper is behind you...much less the boats. Now might be a good time to trade in that Bass Tracker for a big V-bottom Sea Pro boat for trolling on windy days.![]()
glad you got your problem solved GBM aint nothing no worse then having your truck broke down
and that warranty sounds better then a new truck so you should be set to go
hope the 100,000 mi. warranty runs out pulling your boat to water before the 3 yrs is up
that be a lot of crappie fishin for the next few yrs.![]()

nice Stumpy. That 6.0 is tough. But when it go'es to the bad !!!!! Hang on to yo wallet.
the 2003 - 2004 6.0 Diesels are the ones with the issues !!! they have gotten a lot better since all you have to do is keep up on the maintenance ; oil & filter changes , fuel filter changes, etc !!!you good to go !!! now I will says this make sure you take it to a good 6.0 diesel mechanic !!! NOTE : 6.0 DIESEL MECHANIC not just a diesel mechanic !!! that MOTOR is GOOD and WILL LAST LONG TIME !!!
