Thread: First SLABFEST for 2015

Important notice for those attending the Lake Griffin Slabfest!.....after a ton of red tape and a bunch of phone calls....and a slight additional expense we are going to be able to open the gates at 6:15AM on Saturday!

I will be there about 6:15 AM with the code and let everyone in and the park employee will relieve me at 8AM. The user fee is $5.00 per vehicle (truck/boat combination) and that will be paid for you so there will be no fee to use the park that day. If you or someone with your party comes after 8AM have them see me or flycaster and we will refund the $5.00 user fee.

We will plan on weighing in at 1:30 and try to eat at 2PM. The menu is fried fish, beer battered fish, coleslaw, potato salad, and whatever treats or dishes people bring....beverages are pepsi both diet and regular as well as bottled water.

We will present awards after our meal. These will be similar to the plaques at Crescent....so after you weigh your fish someone will take a photo of you holding your catch to insert in your plaque if you are a winner. I will need the email address of each winner to send you your photo. The plaques will be presented with my picture in them at the slabfest....some of you may wish to keep that rather than replace it with your own. I have no problem with that. I'll even autograph it for you.

The weather looks promising and hopefully it gets even better.
