baitcasters for spider rigging. I even use line counters when I am fishing 15-20 ft deep so I can get the depth set easier.

I use a spin cast on the 14 footers, but I bought a solo reel from grizzly jig. I like it, it is almost like a fly rod. Light drag... and like what was mentioned before it is only used really to store the line.

I'll check that place out. Two kids at the store bought 6 reconditioned reels for bass fishing off Ebay a week or so ago for less than $20 a piece. I think they were Quantum's.

I like the baitcasters for rigging as well. The thumb bar and star drag are a great asset. They also store easier than spinning reels. I like low profile reels. Shakespeare Axiom"s or Sigma's from Wally World work great. They used to be about $25 each

I like the baitcasters. I use the smallest Daiwa makes. Easy to store and I like the thumb bar for quick release of line in shallow water or you get hung up or tangled. We started out using spin casters but ended up breaking too many bails getting them out of the racks. Jared, I sent you a pm on some reels.

Baitcasters, Shimano 100 if you can find them. Push release, line out. Very small, light, great drag. Easy to handle when you get hung in brush.
