What y'all running? Want to get a Terrova an can't decide which to get. Also with tha link I'll have to get HB map card right? Is the HB map card for Ga any good? Did they leave any lakes off of it. The countor mode on the link sounds pretty cool

I have run both and both are fine units. The ipilot link does not require a map card to operate. It DOES require a LAKEMASTER map card to use the Follow the contour feature. The new ChartSelect cards are also compatible with the Follow the contour feature. Lakemaster does not cover all of the lakes in GA so be sure to check their site to see which lakes are on the card. You will also need a humminbird unit that has ethernet capability and the latest software update to the bird. The ipilot link comes with a 20' ethernet cable that will plug in to the back of the bird or ethernet hub. Pretty simple setup and works great for me.
I just recently purchased the Terrova ipilot. I did not get the link because it was not compatible with the Navionics chip I already had. Not sure how detailed the other mapping software is, but there is no way I would give up the detail that the Navionics chip gives me. If the other software that is compatible with the link, is as detailed as the Navionics chip, I'd say get the link.
The one and only "Crappie Whisperer"
Vexan Crappie Fishing Rods, Humminbird Fish Finders, Xpress H20PFC w/200 V-Max Sho, Minn Kota trolling motors.
The link will work fine with the navionics chip. It will just not do follow the contour. I use navionics maps with my link and it works just fine. Just cant follow the contours. I use chartselect single lake cards if i want to do that.
Also, and this is just my opinion , the lakemaster maps beat navionics hands down. They just dont have all the lakes. Yet.

Thanks for all tha info.. Next $1700 I run across is going toward a Terrova for sure. I want to run my transducer cable down the grove n tha shaft too. With my power drive the trans cable is a pain. That contour mode sounds nice on the I pilot link. How is the cruise control feature on the I pilots?? Does it respond quickly in ruff weather/wind?

It does not. It works well in steady wind conditions. Gusting winds it cannot respond quick enough. By the time it ramps up to compensate for the gust of wind it's usually too late. Under these conditions it may be better to control the speed manually. Usually when the wind gets that bad I head home. Strong steady winds it can handle as long as your trolling motor has the thrust available. Gusting conditions, not so much.
