As far as `suggested` densities...according to an ODNR guidelines document we received, at summer pool in a moderately fertile hilly terrain impoundment on average a single 6` "C" tree in 8 fow on a sand and gravel bottom biologically affects an immediate area around itself about 2-3X larger than the tree`s volume. In groups or `sets` of up to 8- 10 it`s averaging 3- 6X the volume except for inclines (slopes) where they affect about 4-8X their volume and transition zones where the bottom changes composition from say mud to gravel which can range from 3-8X as far as the area they influence. This is constant up to about 40- 50 trees at which point their area influence goes down to about a constant 2X. Adding them on a slope that crosses a transition zone obviously can be VERY productive. Also, placing them in numbers near OXYGENATED underwater springs (that incidently put constant quantities of 56F water into a body of water ALL year long) can push the volume of area they affect into ludicrious numbers since such areas tend to have both slopes and transition zones too... Cedars last 6- 10 yrs underwater, followed by spruce at 4-8, yellow or jack pine only lasts 2-4 yrs...btw mulberry lasts 8-10+, is a HARD WOOD and is considered a fruit tree meaning it`s limbs are very desirable as fish attractor material...
