Does anyone know how and if you can hook a Sierra GPS speedometer gauge to run off of the built-in gps receiver from a Humminbird locator? Either from the Onix NT or a 597DI model. I know I can add a NMEA 0183 receiver and cable directly to the guage, but since it's sold separate and I already have two birds both with gps was hoping to plug into one of them.

Just guessing, but from the HB that would be an output to the Sierra and I'm betting the 'bird is inputs only.

Above my pay grade too Rickie!
Here is what I do know: Both the ONIX and 597ci HD DI model units should have an NMEA 0183 output as they both have internal GPS Receivers. You would need the AS-HHGPS cable for the 597c DI or the AS-DUAL-NMEA for the ONIX to make the connection from the Humminbird end of things (be sure to set the NMEA Output menu to “On”). Now, I have never helped someone with a Sierra GPS Speedometer before so I can’t say that once you make the connection that it will work. It will probably be one of those things that you will just have to try to see if it works or not.
Thank you Greg, that sounds like it's worth a try. I will update this when I find out if it works or not.
