I just built a 3 stage bed and added 1000 mealworms. I'm very interested to see how they work on beam and other species of fish and to watch them go through the different stages of their life cycle.

Wishing you Blue Skies and Tight Lines
I started raising mealworms 4 years ago,I have bait year round, and they are cheap as nothing to raise.I pretty much fish with them ,but only because I raise them.Worms to me we're more problematic to raise, mealworms have not caused a reduction in my fish in the freezer numbers![]()

I will have to agree. I still use my night crawlers on some of my lines when doing catfishing, but when after gills (which sometimes is for catfish bait) it is almost always wax worms and occasionally mill worms. The later seems to hold up a bit better, so not sure why I don't just switch over completely. Habit...
Almost always have a container of night crawlers as a stand by.
