    Default Pitiful !

It was a great evening on the water. Weather wise that is. We met up with the regular nutcase crowd and a few newbies for a Wylie Nitestalk. Water 46 and slightly dingy for Wylie. Bit of a breeze but not bad. Everyone went to Torrence Branch and setup. Anywhere from 35 to 40 fow .Bite was slow. I mean molasses on a cold morning slow. My brother in law was puttin on the show for everyone. He wiped out 50 to 60 white perch on his first nitestalk. Think I had maybe 10 for my showing. 2 throwback crappie. Chris did get a decent crappie for his effort. Rest of the boats were dead slow also. But thats the way it is sometimes. Big crappie was from The S.S. Uncle Remus boat. Him and Sea Ray had a crappie weighed at 1 .13 lb.They had about 25 or 30 perch also. S.S. Minnow and crew had a crappie at about 1 lb. Chris had his fish at 1 .12 lb. Not a great showing for crappie but a fun night on the water. ScoopeDude and Crappie Kidd kept their hopes up of maybe catchin something. But that is another tale. BiggDawwg and crew had slim pickings also. Cuttbait didnt have a blowout nite either. But it was good to see everyone and shoot the breeze with ya. CK Dont let this one trip turn ya against the dark side. I promise you that crappie will bite in the dark. Well sometime.

Great pictures! We should have had a perch jerk. I think my next adventure will be to the Dr. for knee replacement or just cut both legs off. It is getting tough on me. Maybe Remus can get me a handicap ramp built to board the SS Remus. Hopefully next trip will produce. Thanks John and everyone for a good time.

Maybe we can fabricate a crane aboard the SS minnow???????????? But I guess we will have to include a seat bet for you so that you can't fall down and bend up the rails?

I posted this on the other post but it deserves to be repeated.
Well I want to thank all of you that were there for my first nightstalk. Even though all I did was watch others catch fish I had a great time meeting you all. You all were a bunch of great people and fun to be with. For me I was the winner and came out the best from the fellowship from you. I was truly blessed and thanks for all also those I meet for the first time.

It was a fun outing even if the perch did crowd out the crappie. I think we had 6 crappie with Remus' being the biggest at 14". I was leading with a 12"(WOW!) but he beat me out. We threw back some perch before John said he knew somebody that wanted them, so we kept 34 I believe. I made it home by 1:30 and managed not to fall asleep in church this morning, but about to doze off typing this.
Enjoyed meeting CrappieKid, he joined Remus and me at Pier 51 for a pre-fish dinner.
By the way, guys, some of you were asking about buying minnows near the landing. There is what appears to be a new BP station just down Mt. Gallant toward the interstate that sells minnows. The open at 5:30 am M-S and 6:30 on Sunday. They are at 3900 Mt Gallant, just across from the Pier 51 Restaurant. They also have non ethanol gas and claim to be the lowest price on it around Rock Hill.
Thanks for putting this on and inviting me, always a fun time.

Thanks for the report and pics. Hard nights with a slow bite makes you enjoy the fast catching nights.
