    Default Ulterra/ hummingbird setup?

I have Lowrance HDS gen 1 at console now and ram mount for bow with Lowrance power cord and 2d sonar on minn kota 70 PD I pilot. It'd be easier to get a Lowrance touch for bow with DI & 2d sonar for my setup now but I'm planning to get ulterra within next year for sure.

What or how would you setup your boat if it where yours and mainly long lining and spider rigging. I wanna add another FF but have hookups for it on bow and stern to swap ends when long lining. I have structure scan mounted on bottom stern of boat now for Lowrance HDS 10 gen 1 that's at console. Is that same structure scan compatible with hummingbird? If so I'm thinking have some model of bird "8-9 inch screen recommendations" that is like Lowrance touch series with DI transducer on TM for bow mount and use structure scan on stern when its mounted on stern for long lining. Im wanting the bird so it can be compatible with ulterra. Are the Lowrance units compatible with ulterra?? Are the birds wireless to communicate with ulterra?

I basically need a FF compatible with ulterra that atleast has 2d, DI for bow. SI would be nice if can use current structure scan on boat for stern.

If you are talking about the Ulterra with an iPilot-Link, then your only option would be Humminbird. This would be a wired (Ethernet) connection.

The only touch screen units we have are the ONIX series which come in a 2D only or a Side Imaging/Down Imaging/2D versions. The 800/900/1100 series Side Imaging units can be set up with two transducers via a switch or, if you have more than one unit Ethernet connected, transducers can be shared.

Doesn't have to be touch screen as much as I was looking for the built in structure scan for transducer on TM like Lowrance offers. Does hummingbird have a unit with transducer for TM that's 2d DI only ?

Will my lss2 transducer now work on all hummingbird models Ethernet connected?

Talked to Brian at bbg marine gonna get a hummingbird 1159 for ulterra 2d DI only.
Forgot to ask if onix had a 2d DI series only. Gonna be a month or longer looks like before can purchase ulterra. Maybe I can save up money by then. Lol

No your lss2 will not work on a Humminbird unit not without some sort of a custom adapter cable. Just an Ethernet connection will not allow this.

Yes, an ONIX unit can be set up as a 2D/DI sonar unit if that is what you want. The trolling motor transducer would be the XTM-14-DI-T.

Is there an onix unit that's cheaper with 2d DI only?

There is an NT version of the onix that is $500 cheaper and doesn't have touch.........I have read that if you install Humminbirds all in one Onix transducer to the 2D only Onix, it will do 2D and DI.....But that wouldn't necessarily be supported by Humminbird since it isn't in their listed specifications.....

You could also use the 1159 HD DI model which would have 2D and DI only.....There is a $300 rebate on these right now. Humminbird 2015 National Rebate Promotions: 600, ONIX CT, ONIX NT and 999ciHD & 1199c
