    Default question bout battery connection

I have a dedicated battery for my 998 to prevent interference and such. My unit on TM is currently powered off cranking battery but when i upgrade my ff on TM gonna hook to dedicated power source
This wouldn't cause interference between sonars should it? 1 unit on TM and other on transom?

If I am reading you correctly never hook electronics to the TM battery.

No i have a 998 on a dedicated battery and when upgrade unit on the TM i am going to power it on same battery as 998, so as to not connect anything to TM batt.
Just wanted to make sure (which i dont think would) it wont cause interference between the 2 units

Sonars interfere with each other by seeing each other's pulses Coming back from the bottom. Battery connections won't fix that or make it worse, so you should be fine.

If you get interference simply from installing a second unit on the boat ... It would most likely be crosstalk interference from the Sonar beams overlapping (like Catfan mentioned) ...

Crosstalk interference can sometimes be controlled with the Noise Filter under the Sonar tab ...

If the Noise Filter will not eliminate the crosstalk ... Turning the Sonar off 1 unit or sharing the same xducer thru Ethernet-ed network settings is the best remedy ...
