I am new to the area and was wondering if anybody had a fishing report for Talquin? Maybe even a recent water temp? Thanks and tight lines!

Rodger that. Was just wondering. They say the water temp is 55 and with it being that high we are gonna give it a shot on Saturday. It will be the first time fishing Talquin so we are gonna get some minnows and hit the pads and any structure we can find in staging areas for the spawn. But really just getting out of the house and seeing if we can catch a couple. But thank you for the reply and tight lines to you!!!

Talquin Lodge report yesterday says 12-15 ft near channel, good reports from river. I tried pads and structure in 4-6 ft with minnows 2 days ago and got skunked. Think they're still deeper.

Well started the day launching the boat @ 8am. The air temp was 39 and the water temp was 55.1. played around in 3-6 feet of water o the north side of the lake South of the Whip. We got skunked lol! I know one thing is crazy I am not used to seeing Stumps in 40' of water! we ended up crossing the lake to check out a creek i have been looking at on the south side of the lake didn't stay long. When we picked up the boat @ noon the water temp was 56.2 the highest I saw was on the North side in 4' of water was 56.4. But all in all we had fun! We only saw maybe 4 other boats on the water today and everyone I talked to said its still hit or miss. I will be back up at the end of the month unless something happens and makes me go earlier. Hope this helps but I am still new to the area an hope to learn it and catch a few fish. Thanks to everybody for the advice and tight lines!!!!

Probably little early for the fish to go shallow......They normally stage at the mouths of the creeks for week(+/-) before moving shallow. If there is week of pretty warm weather.........they go in a hurry. Have seen them in 3 foot of water on the 6 Jan ......couple years ago.......not this year.....too cold.
