    After having my rig checked out by my mechanic, I too made my first trip of the year. It was really just to make sure everything was in working order, but I did catch a couple for supper.

    WE have clear water over here BIG RIVER ..LOL , those fertile mud holes you are fishing aren't 45 ft deep anywhere, but they sure are full of crappie

    Great job, nice fish. It's hard for me to think crappie are ever that deep, but obviously they are. Do they stay that deep in the summer when, or if, there is a thermocline?
