I would buy the Tite Lok single rod holders. This is my third set in 3yrs and it's been an expensive learning process. I don't know if I would trust anything that is not mounted. The problem with the t bar holders is .Your going to have a lot of movement transferring from pole to pole. So iif your getting bit on one pole it looks like your getting bit on a few different poles. I mounted the 24" Tite Lok Tracks on my boat. 6 Screws on each track is all it takes and they are rock solid.

This is ones I have now it does good on aluminum boat but not sure about screwing into wood deck if it'd pull screw out eventually. Also like you say be unstable. Hate to buy new set but guess that's another excuse to spend money lol

Hey, Brian! It appears you have pipe insulation or foam zip tied to the shafts of your rod holders. did they come like that or a personal add-on? any particular reason for the foam?

I have foam noodles pushed over the shaft of my tite loks in the event they accidentally go swimming. The other advantage (I found after the fact) with the noodle is you can push a hook into them on your rod while you put a fish in the live well. eliminate it hanging up in the floor, the trolling motor, your leg, the seat, your buddy, your other rods. When it gets beat up, cut of another piece with the fillet knife and string it on.

I put the pipe foam on them. It makes a handy place to hang jigs. I am usually changing them out pretty quick until I find something they are biting on.
