    Small bait casters, I buy them on e bay for $8-15. I have used solo reels my two pole rods, I didn't care for them. It would take some time to get six or eight rods out with them because you have to strip line off, no free spool, with the bait casters I just push the button.

    Lots of options, but if fish are biting 3-4 feet deep on the 14 foot poles, that thumb bar sure is nice to let line out quickly with one hand. If fishing alone trying to run a net, strip line off the spinning reel, and control a fish, it gets kinda hectic

    I use baitcasters with a flippen switch.
