I'm going tomorrow, let you know something tomorrow night.
It was windy as all get out when I got there at about 9:30. I went out in front of the park and found a bunch of bait fish holding at all depths. I might have caught a dozen but kept only 6 that I turned loose in the pond at the house. If it hadn't been for the wind I think a man might have caught a mess today. I quit about 2. May try Blackwell later this week.
Thanks. My friend didn't go, but he talked with a man who went Saturday and caught "a box full" before 10 a.m. Not sure I believe it, but maybe he did. He said they've been biting very early.
I worked on a deer stand today. Nice warm day.........already thinking about next November. GTT

Fished daylight till 1 caught 20 + kept 15 the bite was slow but better early. Had to find the brush and fish barely off the bottom. If your jig wasn't bumping brush you weren't catching fish. Lost several jigs but found the best one to be 1/8 oz chartreuse head and a 2 1/2 inch scented slab slayer black and chartreuse. Annnd broke my new Ozark Rod, I laid it down and it slid down the gunwale and under one of the rope cleats, I didn't notice it and went to pick it up and snapped it at the first eyelet. Oh well they still make em.
