Thread: Were to drill holes for crappie

I see they are on the ice today on Shenango Lake. Would say that you want the deeper water, as I know where the ones were here, that is where they are trying at.

Thanks s-10. I went to Shepard Myers and caught some medium large gills. We will have them for dinner tomorrow. There is something about catching pan fish through the ice for a good tasting fish.

If you're still looking to get out, we were on shenango lake yesterday and were catching loads of eater size crappies. They were 9" black crappies with thick fillets on them. I kept 16 for a fry this week. No problem using my electric knife on them. Some had egg sacs too. Threw the white crappies back as they were too thin at 9 and even 10". Small jigs and plastics took almost all my fish. Fished 8 to 10ft water, 5 ft down. Long walk and steep hill coming back off ice but it was worth it. Back again Friday morning.

Thank Chaunc, I have a fishing show to do this weekend but perhaps next week. If I need more info can I give a shout.
