    This image sort of messes with my mind !

    You can tell how tall in the water column the school was by the long shadow it produced.

    Guesstimating the school was 40 ft wide x 100ft + long x 20ft tall

    how does the hummingbird SI compare to the Lowrance?

    Not sure about the Humminbird SI but here are a few pics from my 7 HDS downscan on Russell. Was checking out a channel drop I have fished a lot in the past. Never knew why the fish worked the drop like they did until now.

    Sniper, I think Humminbird is pretty good but I am not able to compare them. They all must be good or you would hear someone busting on a products quality. I can change a sensor and get picture perfect images but it will not show fish. I just use the down image and 2d to find fish. But looking around the side imaging comes in handy to see what you missed. Lowrance Eagles was all I ever used before my Hummingbird. I have the H998c and use of a H999c and both do pretty good.

    I have a DI Hummingbird Unit, now I want the side scan.....seems like I'm in fairly shallow water most of the time & I believe the SI would work better in that situation.....very cool pics Ronnie! That looks like a hot spot....just needs a Christmas tree or two!
