That was good Stormwalker, thanks, I really enjoyed. A word of advise, don't watch Vince Gill and Patty Lovelace on that same page at George Jones funeral.
    Tell'em I'll be there.

My teen years where saturated with outlaw country....... I respect the older stuff but love , Cash, Nelson, Kristofferson, Jennings......That's country to me.
    Amen to

As far as new(er) country, I'll take Whitey Morgan and the 78s, any day.

    Whitey Morgan Sinner - YouTube

Whitey Morgan and the 78's - "Crazy" - YouTube

He's in the same boat Bocephus was in the 80s. Great music that's ignored by Trashville.

And one more cause it fits the conversation...

Whitey Morgan and the 78's - "If it Ain't Broke" - YouTube

"Well, the radio is playing an unfamiliar song.
The DJ calls it country, but hell, I don't know it at all.
One thing that's for certain, and I think old Hank would agree.
That sure don't sound like country to me

Well if it ain't broke, don't fix it
If it ain't Johnny, Merle, or Hank, or Waylon Jennings
Yeah, if it ain't got that honky tonk heart, like Ernest Tubb had from the start.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it

Well, nowadays in Nashville, it's like the Hollywood of the South.
So-called country singers, singing songs they know nothing about.
Swimming pools and fancy cars, dating them big-time movie stars.
Well, that don't sound like country to me.

Well if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
If it ain't Johnny, Merle, or Hank, or Waylon Jennings.
Yeah, if it ain't got that honky tonk heart, like George Jones had from the start.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Well, my grandpa sat down and he told me, about ten years ago.
said if you wanna play country music, boy, you better have a lot of soul.
he came up from Kentucky, and he passed it down to me.
And this here, sure as hell, sounds country to me.

Well if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
If it ain't Johnny, Merle, or Hank, or Waylon Jennings.
Yeah, if it ain't got that honky tonk heart, like old Paycheck had from the start.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it"
    Here fishy, fishy, fishy...

one of the few country artists I'll listen to now. Has kind of a Jamey Johnson sound. The new artists ain't no cowboy outlaws, just punks

Judging from your taste in music, you and I would get along just fine.
