    Default First Deer with Daughter

Gents, over the holidays had my first successful deer hunt with my little buddy. She went out with me a couple times last year, but we can't stay very long. This time we went out in TN with about 1.5 hours left. Slightly raining and we were in a ground blind, but nothing moving.
"Daddy, can I have the deer calls?"
"Honey, it's not really the time of year to call a lot," I said.
"Well, we haven't seen anything just sitting here," she said.
"Good point, here you go, knock yourself out."
"Grunt, bleat, grunt, bleat, grunt, bleat, grunt,bleat....it's like a buck and doe are talking to each other, daddy....grunt,bleat....."
Me: "Wait a minute, honey, hold on...I hear deer coming behind us."
She looked back and said, "I don't know about behind us, but there's 6 deer coming straight at us in the front."
"Oh, honey...those deer are 400 yards away, they won't come over this far.......wait.....ok, try that can call again....hey, I think they are coming....!
    Stella said, "Told you."
"Hold your ears." Great time with the little one. Hope everyone had a good holiday. Brad

Congrats. Great story. Hard to find a deer hunt you'll never forget. Priceless stuff. I'm sure she won't forget it either. Cute kid. Thanks for sharing.

Awesome! Hunting with a young child can be challenging at times but it is certainly worth it. Thanks for sharing!
