Not sure which lakes you are talking about Jimmy but as far as I know all bur 2 ramps are usable at their intended lake levels on Grenada and Enid, those being Choctaw and Scuna/Turkey. Choctaw being a recent development and Scuna/Turkey just being what it is, sand covers it due to its location and no amount of dredging helps it. Enid has GOOD dredges at all the ramps I know of, catch fish out a lot of them during the summer months. I honestly dont have a clue about Sardis or Butla.
Very proud they have done this and it will be utilized many. Thanks COE!!!!!!!!!!

I've been on Enid and watched as they dredged a ramp. Scoop the mud up and throw it to the side. When the lake refills the mud washes back in. There are plenty of hollows in the woods that could have a weir built and the mud pumped into them and out of the ramp area. That's how they extended the river front park at Memphis along Riverside drive. I know that some will say you can't do that because you'll expose chemicals like DDT. What are they doing now?
I looked at google earth and the ramp at Cossar is closed. I know that's state. So I guess it would be best to contact them.

Jimmy....The ramp as well as the park land etc. at Cossar is owned by COE....The State just leases it from them.

It would be nice to have them on all our lakes, but like John said earlier Engineers point is about the only others place to put one that wouldn't get torn to pieces with the wind and waves.

All I want to know is if they are gonna have secure parking for my Huveround scooter

I sent an email to MDWFP/state parks about the ramp at Cossar.
The reply was, "Cossar State Park has an alternate boat ramp. I suggest you call the park for information."

I'll send one to the COE.

Here's a little NEWS SCOOP from Grenada Lake, yall get it before the paper gets printed.
    Grenada Lake’s New Floating Dock
By Liz Garlington, Natural Resources Specialist
EZ Dock Contractors are currently installing a floating dock at the Grenada Landing Boat Ramp on Grenada Lake. Grenada Lake’s water level fluctuates throughout the year, ranging from around 215 ft NGVD during the summer months down to 193 ft NGVD during the winter months. Despite fluctuating lake levels Grenada Landing Boat Ramp is useable throughout the year. The popularity of this ramp, along with its year round usability is why Grenada Landing was selected for the location of the floating dock. The floating dock runs parallel with the boat ramp and is approximately 190 ft long. Benefits of the floating dock include a safer and easier setting for Grenada Lake visitors to board their boats, load and unload supplies, and to decrease traffic congestion. The dock meets all American Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines, accommodates four to five boats, and is equipped with handrails, benches, bumpers, and cleats. EZ Dock anticipates completing the floating dock by Friday, January 16, 2015.

Aint got a clue but worth every penny. Was told that it was the new lake manager's idea and decision. Plans are to use it to keep a COE boat on the water during peak times so it is ready to go if and when needed. Very fortunate here, our rangers here dont mind hitting the water in any conditions to help a boater in trouble.

I was very happy to see that they are planning for one at Sardis also. COE was surveying for it today.
