I want to take this opportunity to Share several things with you!
Crappie Madness 2015 Bass Pro Shops is coming very soon. Official dates are not released as of yet, but it will be Late January and Early February 2015 as proposed for now...unless changes are made.
I will be working very closely with the staff at the Bossier City Location. We want to ensure that we give this event our full attention and continue to encourage Bass Pro Shops to dedicate events like this to us Crappie Anglers. Having a Crappie Specific Event like "Crappie Madness" is a very important step in getting the recognition we need as one of the largest growing fishing sports in the country. I personally invite you to come by our Bossier City Bass Pro Shops to see me and my friends as we host the 2015 Crappie Madness Event!
I have been waiting to make this announcement in 2015
I have partnered with Bass Pros Shops (Title Sponsor) as a Local Pro Staff Member, along with supporting Pro Staff positions at Lake Fork Tackle and Ziptailz Ultimate Fishing Skirts.
I was approached by Bass Pro Shops during 2014 to seek a Pro Staff position, I was very honored and flattered that this was offered. I submitted all the required information, resumes, etc. and waited to hear from the selection process. I was very excited in late 2014 to receive my approval and endorsement agreement confirmation. On Friday December 26th Fed EX delivered the exciting news and final documents,,,Merry Christmas to ME...lol
Looking back at 2013 and 2014, I never expected to be at this transition point. Introduction of the Bayou State Crappie Association, involvement with the first ever Crappie Madness events as Bass Pro Shops locations, coordination of the effort to bring Krappie KINGS Television experience to Lake D'Arbonne and working with Crappie Masters to become a 2015 destination in North Louisiana were all exciting adventures that I will always remember being part of a contributing factor. This just goes to show that hard work does pay off, and sometimes the little guy does get recognition. I pride myself in the promotional work I do and I see myself as more of a behind the scenes worker but I take very serious my position as a representative of these sponsors. This platform will allow me to continue the work I do and hopefully grow from here. So excited to begin 2015 with a whole new expectation of things to come!
Funny how things seem to work out. Looking back over some of these pics and the road along the way I never imagined much. If anything, the jokes and fun poked at me for trying something different just make it that much more rewarding. This just goes to show that you don't have to be the greatest fisherman, the know it all, or anyone important to make a difference. We all matter, and our actions speak volumes to our true spirit of sportsmanship. I am so happy that there are people like these great sponsors that realize this, and that they offer opportunities to people like me.
Hope to see you in 2015.

Can you tell us folks what a Pro Staff position is?![]()

Here is a good article that will answer your question. Sole Adventure | How to Become a Pro Staff Member in the Hunting or Shooting Industry
The purpose of the pro staff is to promote the company/brand/product that they are associated with. - See more at: Sole Adventure | How to Become a Pro Staff Member in the Hunting or Shooting Industry

"Maxwell328" link provided pretty well describes what is involved. Can you tell us folks what a Pro Staff position is?
Personally for myself, my position as a pro-staff is more on the promotional side of this explanation as I am certainly not a professional fisherman. One of the KEY words here is "work" and that is exactly what it takes. Over time I have been involved in so many activities trying to promote the sport that we love, "Crappie Fishing" many of which were generated right here from this forum. My active role in these and other steps along the way have assured me that I enjoy these activities and I decided to set a goal to do what I can to the best of my ability.
My partnership with my Sponsors allow me to do this on a different level. I have a platform to reach even more individuals and perhaps help grow the sport just a little bit more along the way. It is more than promoting a product or a company! It is about helping, sharing and working with others to help support what we enjoy.
I will continue to work toward providing Louisiana with more "Crappie Specific Events" and opportunities. I am here to provide information if needed, and work in a supporting role, and also serve as a link between customers and companies that I am associated with.
That is what I feel my Position defines.
thanks,
Brandon
......and "work" you do. Thank you for all you do. Personally, there is no way I would do all that. It is very time consuming and very demanding. Last year when you spent a week or more on D'Arbonne I didn't think you were going to make it. I could tell you were tired and I know you were glad when it was over. But, like you said, it's something you enjoy.
I fish 7 days a week; some days for fish, everyday for men.
Thanks Mr. Warren! Yes I was exhausted after 9 days, missing my family, etc. I also know that without the support of my family and friends that none of this would be possible. Success does not come without sacrifice. The greatest asset that comes from any of this is friendship, and in my quest so far I have been blessed to add many names to that list including yourself and Josh and a host of others. I hope that my actions only strengthen these relationships, and assure others that having this connection is for the sole purpose of growth and a continued support for our extended "Crappie Family".
Congrats Brandon, look forward to meeting you in Bossier. Just let me know when.
