We have to maintain the winter pool lake level at 262.0 feet (one foot below normal pool hight of 263.0) for flood control purposes. Water going to the WMA is just a bonus in this situation. Normal pool level of 263.0 runs from March 15th to November 15th. We generally let the lake start to fill back up at the beginning of March so that it will be at full pool by March 15th. We were planing to start a debris removal project out of Palarm Creek (below the dam) this Monday. But because we received 3 inches of rain, we ha to discharge water from the lake. Once the lake gets back down to 262.0, work will begin. While the heavy equipment is down in the Palarm Creek drainage, we will not be able to discharge water from the lake. So you may observe the lake level be higher than 262.0 until this work is completed.

put some on the 89 bridge areas where the dudes fish under the bridge from the bank. many a dink put in the coolers there.
D10, how long do you anticipate the scheduled work to take?
will u post when the drawdown is completed so we will know in advance b4 we head 2 the lake? thanks.P
I guess that I do not understand what you are getting at. We are just releasing water to get the lake back down to 262.0 feet. Currently the lake is at 262.4 feet. The gates will probably be closed tomorrow sometime. Does this answer your question? If not, holler at me on the phone number below. Thanks.

yes it did. sorry I didn't ask the question right. just wanted to know when the gates will be shut. went to the bridge area yesterday and the current undertow was so strong from the drawdown my 1/4" jig (with a split shot attached) stayed at a 45 degree angle and I couldn't get down to those big slabs hovering on the bottom. that's my excuse anyway and I am sticking to it![]()
