It has been acting up and tonight when dropped in the water it went backwards and was very loose feelng. The arrow on top pointed opposite Or the actual motor direction, so if you wanted to go forward you had to point the arrow towards the rear. It had a lot of play in the foot petal. It's a min Kota all terrain 65. It was dark when I got home so I didn't have time to evaluate.

If your mechanically inclined rebuilding is fairly simple . Bushings, bearings, seals , motor brushes, and you can replace the foot pedal cable. Done my old one twice now , usually the inside corrodes from being outside in temperature swings condesating , or you had a seal failure and have had water leak inside. Or if your not a DIY guy sounds like Jerry is the guy .

Have you had it disconnected from the power supply lately? Sounds like you could have the polarity backwards if it's an old TM.

If its cable driven, look for a large screw under the pedal. That can allow you to take up some of the slack.

Taking it to Jerry tomorrow. The case is broken and sounds like more than I want to mess with. Thanks for all the suggestions.
