First boat at launch this morning. Caught one slab across from Cypress Inn early but had a tough time locating fish. Moved to dam and caught 15 in 20 FOW. Very slow, windy, and cold. Only a couple other boats fishing and both looked to be doing about same. Tried my new Driftmaster for first time today spider rigging. Did great until I caught my first fish. Tangled one line and while fighting (and eventually losing and cutting line) that battle, the wind spun me around some and cut other line with trolling motor. One fish knocked out three rods. Best of all was spending the day on the lake with the person I inherited my love of the outdoors from, my dad.

Glad y'all found some, and got to fish with dad, wish I still could. Try a drift sock, it helps with the wind.

I have one but have never used it. Any tips?

I put a float on the rope, next to the sock, tie a knot on the other side to keep it from sliding. Mine is out about ten feet. I tie it to the back of the boat, and put down the troll motor, and keep the big motor trimmed down. It will stop a lot of the spinning, etc.
It helps when it's bad windy.

I usually just drift through the areas I have done good in the past watching the graph some. When we catch one i'll try to circle around the spot. If we catch another or two I will make the spot and move along doing the same thing as we drift. after we've got several markers out we will just drift back by them.
