Default Ventilation Making Plastic Jigs - Safety

What do you use for ventilating fumes from heated plastic from a pot or microwave? I wear a respirator just in case. The exhaust fan I use gets condensation on it. You can wipe it off with a paper towel. It can not be water vapor. Safety is my concern. Making jigs is a blast, however none of us need to be breathing bad fumes.

I just open the garage doors 1/4 -1/2 way. I use the do it essential plastital. It has less fumes an odor than the previous plastital I used. It is also phthalate free. I suggest you switch to it Frank. I have plans of getting a vent fan soon.

Dave, thank you for that information. How is the hardness of this new plastisol? Soft Medium or hard?

Essential plastic is medium. That's the only formula available, but it can be softened to soft very easy with Do-It's softener. I put 1 3/4 ounces in a pint bottle and fill it with the plastisol for my soft and its a dynamite plastic for smaller baits.

Thanks for the feedback! I was hoping they had a hard option as it allows me to catch more without having to change baits.

You can always harden it if you like. I have found the essential series has more elasticity than the clear series. Pretty tough plastic. Hands down the best plastital on the market.

Frank bought the duct fan at big box home inprovment store fo 30 bucks flexible duct for 12 wireing for 8 and 6 for plywood to cover window. I think i am going to get a stronger fan,box it in to fit window and use ridged ductwork for a better draw. what kind of resperator do you use? Dave
