    Default What a day

Its been too long since I was able to go out and fish with my buddy, you see he's been taking chemo and radiation treatments. Fished with this fella since we met in 1990 and when he told me earlier this year he had lung cancer it was tough to take. Not sure what to say I told him I'd listen to anything he wanted to tell me. We would either call or text nearly every day but that changed, he'd wait for a week at a time but then he'd call and we'd talk for awhile and I'd listen as he told me how they put tattoo on his chest and back so they'd be sure and hit the right spot every time. I could tell he was worried when he questioned everything and all I could do was support him. Then one call he told me how they told him the cancer was shrinking and they'd be dropping some of the radiation and you could tell there was light at the end of the tunnel. Today, we fished I can't begin to tell you how AWESOME it was to see my buddy in the boat with me again. We caught fish but it didn't matter. Christmas came early for us. I hope all that read this has just as great a Christmas as we did today. Merry Christmas ALL.

Thanks for sharing your compassion for your friend. It is hard to handle all the details about another ones illness but I think you are doing great in being there for him. A mile in my shoes always comes to mind in these situations. God bless you !!
