Default AWESOME DAY/ EPIC FAIL 12/15/2014

[COLOR=rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.701961)]Awesome day and an Epic fail! Was a very warm day in south Arkansas so I decided to go to buzzard beach lake across the road from pendleton dam. The water looked great, fish were on my graph EVERYWHERE! It was an awesome day to be on the water, but I never caught a crappie. I did however get an asain (jumping) carp to bite a jig! About a 4 pounder. He was fun, but couldnt make myself throw him in the livewell. I have eaten them before. We tried spider rigging and solo polling. No good. Anyways below are some pictures of the carp and my graphs. I used to see alot of boats at this lake in the winter crappie fishing and would hear that they were catching em like crazy. I havent heard anything from there in several years so I thought I would give it a try.

I bet that was fun. Never a bad day on the water fishing.

I absolutely despise asian "jumping" carp!!! Been face planted more than I care to remember by them slimy torpedo's. Worst I've seen was the CHUTE leading into and out of Paradise ... Had at least 100 in the air at one time on one occasion .... 17 landed in the boat .... painful memories!!

Never tell till you go try. Is that lake on the north side of the river ? I remember a lake near my buddies cabin , it is across the levee from Merisach. I thought those Sliver Carp were filter feeders? Probably just swam into the jig. We catch Buffalo here sometimes in the mouth or fins. Glad we don't have them jumping disasters here!

Jig was in mouth. I guess its possible it was snagged, but.... last summer in merrisach lake caught one on a crankbait, and it was completely in its mouth.

January and february when u catch those crappie, u catch em in the deep water or back in the shallower water? There is deep water right in front of the boat ramp, but there is not a whole lot of deep water there.
