Keeping jig tubes in safe place
I have learned the hard way that not putting jig tubes up and out of the sun is not the proper way to keep tubes. So would like to know how you guys store and keep your tubes in a organized matter, so you know what is what instead of a jumbled up mess. I have learned that dumping different colors together that the colors will bleed off on one another, not good. just wanting to keep my jigs in proper form and color to make the best presentation possible for I need all the help I can get, if you know what I mean. So what is the best method to keeping them jigs perky. Thanks men

I keep bulk tubes in my office in air controlled environment out out of direct sunlight. Buy the small clear plastic boxes at Walmart with several compartments for small amount tubes (carry enough for a few trips, I carry one for 2'' and another for 2.5'' tubes) , swivels , and lead heads for less than 5 bucks each. I have a big water proof orange storage box that i carry in the boat. It will hold several of those boxes plus pliers , knife , and a few other things I need in the boat.

I keep them in their package IN a plastic coffee can. I usually use Bobby Garlands, but I do have some tubes in blue/ white and purple/ white. My two favorite combos. GTT

I use method similar to NIMROD. In the boat I have loose tubes in clear Plano boxes with small individual compartments. I keep jig heads in another box, slip bobbers in another, etc. I reload boxes between trips and I keep the boxes in a soft tackle bag with labels on the edge of the boxes for easy reference.

I normally buy my tubes in bulk packs. Once I get them, I put a few in one of the storage boxes like Nimrod was talking about, but I put the rest of the pack, package and all in a ziploc bag and squeeze the air out. I have all those ziplocs (and yes that's a bunch of them) in a Bass Pro Shop boat bag. It is a heavy duty bag and I do not have any fading of tubes or melting of tubes. It is my system and it is what works for me.
Hope you get some ideas and figure out something that will fit your style.

Plano 3700's. the 24 compartment kind, kept in a soft-side tackle box that holds 4 of them. Put them back up when you get one out so not out in the sun.

This is what we use and keep the bulk plastic's in a cool dry place.The main thing on plastic's and tubes is to keep jigheads,leadheads away from plastic until your going to use them!! Espically the salty tubes!!

Keep out of sun and hot conditions and they'll be fine.
TIP:
Most tube companies package with mineral oil. That helps keep them from sticking. A couple of drops in a bag of tubes and they are like new and won't stick or gum up.

I agree and use the method of plastic containers with a few of each color I like and then leave the rest at home inside out of the elements. Only thing I do different is I carry my trays in one of my son's old backpacks. Its just easier for me to tote around and will fit out of the way in my boat. It will hold 3 of the larger trays for tubes and I also keep 2 smaller trays with jig heads, weights, swivels etc. Pretty much have everything I need for a trip in one backpack.
