Whip out that Farmers Almanac and see which day will be the cold, rainy, windy, spitting rain day and lets go ahead and agree on that one. 2 out of 3 times I have come down the night before and woke up to a dusting of snow on the boat. I swear it gets colder down there than it does here. But I do like those perch. Didn't work out for me last year, so I'm due for a ring perch haul.

    Looking forward to it.

I voted the middle of the month. the 4th is to early and by the end the month the netters have caught them all. Last year I did not catch a single yellow perch in the NW river the entire month. If the end of the river is plugged with nets we may need a better location??? Western Branch has a motor limit but the yellow perch bite has been getting very good by Feb. AND there are no nets. I have also seen pictures of huge numbers of yellow perch coming from creeks off the york river.
