Default Charles Gets His First Jordan Limit Today

A big congrat's to Charles on his first ever limit of crappie on Jordan. It was a wonderful day on the lake with the first slab crappie on a hook within five minutes of putting out lines. We totaled 34 keeper crappie, along with striped bass, white bass, largemouth bass, white perch, yellow perch, blue gill and catfish. Like is our custom, two of the three places we fished today were completely new to both of us. Once you learn how to pattern the crappie, they are fairly easy to find.

I know a lot of you guys deer hunt, but if you don't, now is the best time of year to fish. I started cold-weather fishing for crappie just five years ago and this November has been outstanding. The quantity and quality of fish are the best I have ever seen. We can be very thankful that the shad and crappie populations have recovered and made days like today possible.

Charles got all the big ones today. These four were all close to 14".

Now for some screen shots--got some really interesting ones. I saw this on the boat and thought what a cool picture. Just from an artistic view it was most interesting how the school was arched like they were. When I got home and downloaded the pictures to my computer, I realized what was going on. Look under the school--probably some stripers or large crappie and the school has arched up and over the predator fish (or at least I think this is what is happening).

Lots of baitfish with plenty of predators underneath. We didn't fish here, so not such what was down there.

More of what we are so thankful for--lots and lots of shad.

Okay, so I will share a little secret. This is where Charles and I catch our fish. Big slabs tend to be loners or hang out in small groups. There was one time we had three nice crappie on at once and I am pretty sure it was from the small school in the bottom picture.

Wow! Congratulations on the limit. The snapshots are fantastic. We saw ton of bait like that today, but didn't bring in but two fish.

FishHound--it was good to meet you today and to see Shane again. I told Charles you guys must be on some fish because you stayed in the same area a long time. Nice cooler of fish and yes, the crappie on Jordan this year are very fat.
