The nut, washer, inner bearing and grease seal were still on the spindle.
I just got a call from cray and Charlie told me what I think my problem is. The trailer place in Jackson that sold me the parts gave me the wrong type outer nut. It's loosening up on the bearings creating too much slack. They sold me a 1/4 inch thick nut without the slots for a cotter pin. At least it's a good time for troubles, the fish aren't biting. Lol

The nuts without slots usually have an expanded metal piece that is 12 point inside with an extruded piece sticking outward with slots in it for the cotter pin. this gives you infinite adjustment.

Last year I had lost the dust cap off of one of my hubs and after loosing the grease, I burnt the bearings. The spindle needed to be dressed so I carried the axle to a trailer repair business in Jackson. They replaced the passenger side hub and repacked the bearings on the drivers side. I also got another spare hub with packed bearings installed. I can't imagine a business that specializes in trailer bearings installing them where the nut would loosen. This same thing happened shortly after I bought the boat, same drivers side wheel. Nothing was hot, just the outer bearing torn apart and the hub coming off of the spindle. I have no idea who had installed the bearings that time.

I would also have someone check the camber of the axle.. I had one out of line that would eat bearings quickly. Bought a new axle...solved my problem.
