    Default brackish crappie

Can't seem to upload pics with this tablet so here's the link to the pic of today's catch posted on my girl's Facebook page. Caught all these in about an hour and a half from one spot bank fishing a brackish creek. I'm sure I could've caught more if I had moved to a different spot. Caught a lot of throwbacks. All were caught on minnows. One of the larger ones had a little croaker in it's stomach when I cleaned them. I think I'm figuring out a little pattern with these brackish fish. At high tide they hang out in a little pond at the back of the creek. When the tide starts to move out they go stage at the mouth of the creek. Exactly the way drum and flounder do. There's about six feet of tide in this place, and when it gets to falling good it really moves fast. So I'm sure there's bait rushing out of the mouth of the creek on th e falling tide. When I get to a real computer I'll attach the pics appropriately.

Nice crappie. It's interesting how that brackish water down East makes the crappie a lot darker.

You should see the males when they're spawning in here.
