    Default Football Playoff Rankings

Glad State stayed in the top 4--even though I'm a BAMA fan! I hope BAMA plays Oregon. Just don't think Oregon or Florida State played competition. Nothing like the SEC beating up on each other. BAMA has to get by Auburn and State by Ole Miss though. Both could be spoilers to SEC teams in the playoff!

    1. Alabama (9-1)

    2. Oregon (9-1)

    3. Florida State (10-0)

    4. Mississippi State (9-1)

    5. TCU (9-1)

    6. Ohio State (9-1)

    7. Baylor (8-1)

    8. Ole Miss (8-2)

    9. UCLA (8-2)

    10. Georgia (8-2)

Truth is the sec is soooo good this year it's going to hurt us. I'm a rebel fan and I'm wondering if we win out and bama loses to auburn would we even be in the playoffs. Kinda sux because the top 6 teams in the sec could beat the sox off of the top 6 teams from all other conferences combined.

I think a four team play off just isn't enough.

SEC dominates. As far as playoffs, whatever the situation some fans won't be happy. 4 teams, 8 teams, etc. Someone's going to be left out. Never going to be perfect. And I agree that on any given day anyone can win. I don't think Ole Miss has much hope. Too many to leap frog even if they win out. They might be the spoiler though along with Auburn. Knock all the SEC teams out.

was shocked they did not take at least six . #1 should play the winner of # 4 and #6, #2 should be playing winner of #3 and #5 . would take three weeks . we started out in MS. high schools with the dist. . champions and progressed to top 4 in each dist. .College football can stand alone . Not many playing football/basketball in college . There was talk about dropping State from the four but would be hard to bump the added team out if they won out . Could you see how stupid it would look "IF" Mississippi State won out and did not get in ? Nobody else has beaten 4 top ten schools( IF STATE WINS EGG BOWL ) . Rebels would have needed State to have beaten Bama then beat State ( #1 ) would have given them a chance to get back in as a two loss team . Mississippi has "two " top 5 teams this year and either one could win out . Seems that Ohio State 's ticket sales will boost them into it if any stumbles to much . If you look at Home vs. Away records(SEC) you had best bet on the home team ! JMO .

Ok, so help me understand this. Do u look at what a team is ranked when u play them or what that team ends up being. Reason I ask is because supposedly olemiss losses are not quality losses because of those teams records now are not as good. At least that is what I have read. If that's the case, state has not beaten a single top 10 team. Also mentioned above is the fact that in house play in SEC is a big factor, along with tough back to back conference games. Olemiss played 5 strait conference games without an open date and no one else in the league came close to that. Not to mention 6 of those were night games which also takes a toll on the players. I'm not coming up with excuses for the team I'm just saying these things should be considered

New play off system was designed to stop SEC domination, guess that one ain't working like they planned.
