Congrats on the catch and happy they did what I thought they would! Sometimes you never know what makes a crappie tick, but something seems always will get their attention and it's just a matter of us picking the right colors for that day and water! Good looking mess for sure!
also for me when the water gets cold a hair jig like a kip tails or squirrel tail hair is really good as they don't like as much action then!
