I went out for a while yesterday. It took me two hours to find the very narrow depth they were holding in. 9'-9.5' was the key. The Crappie were still scattered with small groups around brush. I'm going to try to coin a phrase by saying I was "Crappie Creeping". What I did was simply start upwind of a northern bank with wind in my face. I was letting the wind push me while using two rods with a 1/4oz jig on each and watching the front graph maintaining the target depth. This method is more than a controlled drift as I kept my lines very close to vertical, thus the "Creeping" as I was barely moving backwards with the wind. The wind wasn't very strong as I was hiding under a steep north bank. This method allows me to thoroughly work the bank at my target depth coming across any scattered fish. It also allows me to pull forward when I hang instead of having to back the boat up.
I ended up with about 25 fish caught with a few keepers here and there. Crappie Creeping is a more defined way to slow troll.
So the next time you're on the water and can't seem to find the fish, they're still there but could be actively feeding at a specific depth right off the bottom. Try a little"Crappie Creeping" and see if it won't work for you too!

Good Report, Congrats
We did a little of that right after our first Crappie camp at Eufaula. Had four in the boat with me up front with two rods and the others with one rod each. In 2-3 hours we caught enough for a good sized fish fry with enough left over for two more. It worked great! I've since done it both creeping forward or being pushed back with normally pretty good success.

Reaper were you able to see the fish on your locator or were you just using it to maintain correct depth?
Strictly to maintain depth. You're not going to see the fish on sonar if they're holding on the bottom in that shallow of water. Moving so slowly, a downscan wouldn't work other that maintaining depth either.
Oologah has been a tough Crappie bite for some time and this method has put me on fish EVERY trip I've made in the last two weeks which has been at least ten trips. If a brush pile is in the target area along the bottom, you might garner a couple of extra fish there. I've tried fishing deeper brush to see if any fish were suspended in the target area within the brush and got a big nada. All active fish I came across were in the depth for that particular day and right on the bottom.
