Default Bayou State Crappie Association (Tournaments Begin Nov.8th)

I just wanted to add here to the Main Louisiana forum page, info about our events and what the BSCA is offering to members wanting to fish in Local Crappie Tournaments. This is our 2nd year running, and I believe that we have made some great strides to offer Local Crappie Fishermen here in North Louisiana an opportunity to become part of a growing organization.

Our Events begin November 8th, starting on Lake D'Arbonne and continue at various locations each Month including (Black Lake, Lake Claiborne, Caney Lake) for a total of 4 regular season events, then ending with a Season Championship in April (Location TBA).

This Season is 100% Payback (80% during the Regular Season Events with 20% Retained for addition to the Total Pot to be awarded during the Season Championship!) In addition, B'n'M Poles has provided ($400) in gift cards and ($500.00) in Cash Prizes to be awarded during our Tournament Season.

Here is a link to our Page here on Crappie.com, where you will find more details!

Please Contact me here via PM, or Call me (318) 533-9259 with any questions.

    BAYOU STATE CRAPPIE ASSOCIATION
    OFFICIAL RULES

Interpretation and enforcement of these rules shall be left exclusively to the Tournament Director. It is the Tournament Director’s discretion to make a change where safety of the contestants is a concern. In the event of a rule violation, he may impose such sanctions, as he deems appropriate, including, without limitation, disqualification, and forfeiture of prizes, entry fee, and prohibition from participation in subsequent tournaments. All Federal, State, and local laws must be obeyed and it is the contestant’s responsibility to know these laws.

    1) Eligible participants. Participation in the “Bayou State Crappie Association” Tournament Series is open to anyone. Membership fee of $60 is the only requirement necessary. A “Membership” is considered as a “Team Membership” consisting of yourself and Your Partner. Also we allow Immediate Family such as Spouse, Children or Grandchildren to participate. You are also allowed to Fish with any BSCA Member if you wish! The objective here is Camaraderie, Youth Participation, and Family Oriented Fellowship!
    2) Cancellation and Delay. In the case of extreme weather and/or water conditions, BSCA tournament officials reserve the right to postpone or cancel the event. In which case, tournament will be rescheduled by the BSCA officials at a later date or entry fees will be returned.

    3) Tournament hours and ramps. Tournament fishing hours will be from Safe Daylight after registration is complete, until 2:00 p.m. All participants will register at a designated place and are then free to proceed to their fishing locations and wait for the official “start fishing time”. Participants are allowed to trailer to alternative ramps as well. Participants must stop fishing at 2:00 p.m. and be in the weigh in line no later than 3 p.m. Anyone arriving after 3 p.m. will be disqualified and not allowed to weigh in.

    4) Pre Tournament Inspection and Pre Tournament Registration – Each member will register and shall have paid the entry fee prior to the morning of the tournament, or at registration on the morning of the tournament. Each Member will be responsible for having their coolers and live wells checked prior to launching or departure to an alternate launch by one of the tournament officials or designees.

    5) Practice – Pre-fishing or practice is allowed before any tournament, but is off limits from Midnight the night before until the official start time the day of the tournament.

    6) Winners and Ties. Winning weights will be determined by the heaviest 7 fish of legal size. In the event of a Tie, winner will be determined by Big Fish weight. Legal size is strictly governed by the state and local lake laws and is the responsibility of the participant to adhere to these laws. Any deviation or law breaking of legal size fish will result in disqualification of that tournament.

    7) Entry Fees. Entry fees will be $60/per Boat. Entry fees not paid prior to the start of each Tournament will be considered as a non-participating boat in the event and therefore cannot participate in the awards payout. Payout will be determined by number of attendance, in the event of low attendance the Tournament Director retains the right to adjust payout as needed. A maximum of 3 Places will be paid in following percentages (1st Place 50%, 2nd Place 30%, and 3rd Place 20%) Entry fees will be cash only and should be paid in exact amount due. Tournaments will be 80% payback with exception to the Spring Classic! The 20% Retainer from each Regular Season event will be added to the Pay-Out for the Classic on April 25th.

    8) Big Fish – Each Boat will present their selected big fish to be weighed and considered for the big fish award. Only one Big Fish per Boat Entry will be weighed. The big fish payout will pay 100% to the single largest crappie. $10 of each entry fee will be dedicated to the Big Fish Pot!
    9) Points Race- The Points Race will be discontinued due to changes in our structure. However, We have added the Championship for this Season and the B’n’M Challenge!
    10) Weigh–In will consist of a total of (7) Fish per Boat to be pre-selected prior to weigh-in. Of this (7) fish total, only (1) fish per Boat can be submitted for a chance to win the (Big Fish Pot). There will be a live fish rule and fish will be checked at the check in point at which time they will or will not qualify. All fish must be caught during tournament hours and must have been landed by an entrant. The use of any means of landing a fish other than (Rods and Reel, Crappie Poles, etc.) is prohibited!
11.) The B’n’M Challenge will consist of (1) $100 B’n’M Gift Card for Each 1st Place Team at each Regular Season Tournament. This Challenge is open to all BSCA members!
Also, there will be an additional $500 Cash Award Provided by Jack Wells owner of B’n’M Poles to be awarded at the Championship for the Top Finishing B’n’M Team. Weather Channel predicts WSW winds 10 mph. So, maybe no wind, but more likely 15 to 20 mph. Will be my first time on D'Abornne. Looking forward to it.
