I opened the gates at 1:00. I know it shuts down the bite and I don't like that. I wish could leave he lake at 263 year around. One of these days...

I got out just after daylight and quit around 1000. So now I don't have an excuse except they were tough. Fished the channel and seemed to have some current to it. Being on both sides of the winter pool numbers its got to be hard to please everybody, but my hats off to y'all, seems to work better than what we use to have. One of these days maybe the spillway will get done and solve most of the issues associated with lake levels. Thanks for every thing y'all do for us Matt, it really is appreciated.

Thirteen fish is not a bad haul for a slow day in the Pool. I'd say you did alright, WTG!

Matt does a heck of a job taking care of things on Conway. It is not his only concern, but he particularly has a passion for that lake, as many of us do. There is a certain level of P.R. involved in what he does, and he brings more of it upon himself by being involved in this site. Quite frankly, he handles that WAY better than I would. He does that because wants to know the thoughts and concerns of the sportsmen in his district. I know for a fact that he takes those concerns into consideration, and addresses them when it is possible. Matt is a great asset to our fisheries, and he has become a great friend to me as well. Im sure I bug him to death sometimes, but he never shows it! Thanks for what you do Matt.

Thanks for the recognition. I love my career and wouldn't trade it for any other. The good parts definitely make up for the difficult parts. You don't bug me at all and I consider you a good friend as well Chris. I know you don't post much on the Arkansas board, but you should. There are many folks out there like me, who could learn a thing or two from you.

Duck hunters need water too. Bell Slough was needing a drink to hold this flight of new birds that will be here arriving next week. While causing the bite to be off, it will pay dividends cause in 2 weeks the duck hunters will not be fishing if they have water in their hunting spots.
