Guys, I'm now using a XTM-9-WIDE-DI-20-T, on my trolling motor. I only use one FF 998c SI as I have a stick steer boat and use the older TS2 switch to go from bow to stern. Do you think the SI at 60 degrees would give me a better picture? I also have a 360 on the TM.

Same brushpile in all 3 shots below ...

Stock XHS 9 HDSI 180 T "DI from SI" ...

--------------
--------------

XTM 9 WIDE DI 20 T

--------------
--------------

HDSI rotated 60°

The HDSI rotated 60° seems a little better ... But not by much over the XTM 9 WIDE DI 20 T ...

Thanks for the snapshots Rickie, from your testing I'm not sure it's worth the trouble to mount the SI ducer at 60 degrees. I'm happy with the DI wide but always looking from a better image.

Genec, I think those are the best DI pics I've seen from a Humminbird SI unit. I would like to point out a small problem. Where the coordinates should be I'm just seeing black on your pics. If I was able to see the numbers, I would be able to go and do a comparison screen shot with my own unit. No way would I ever drop a jig down in such awesome cover.

If one already has an AS SIDB Y cable ... (And in your case already having an extra "Dual Beam" piezo in the XTM 9 WIDE DI 20 T)... And you're willing to modify the AS SIDB Y cable ...the test setup is pretty simple...

1. Remove the "Left SI" pin in the AS SIDB Y cable ...

2. Plug the XHS 9 HDSI 180 T into the "Side Imagng" leg of the AS SIDB Y cable ...Rotate 60° ...
3. Plug the XTM 9 WIDE DI 20 T into the "Dual Beam" leg of the AS SIDB Y cable ...

This will make the "Right SI" piezo dedicated and pointing straight down ...

And the "Dual Beam" leg of the AS SIDB Y cable will only connect the 2d piezo in the XTM 9 WIDE DI 20 T ...

If you don't like the results ...the AS SIDB Y cable is the only thing that was modified ...

Seems like this thread is still getting a lot of attention, so I thought that I'd add some more rotated si transducer pictures....[/URL[/URL[/URL

-------------
-------------

The normal oriented HDSI xducer would be connected to the "line thru" leg of the HB TS3 switch ...

The "rotated 60° xducer (or a dedicated DI xducer) would be connected to an additional 2d xducer with the AS SIDB Y cable ...

The AS SIDB Y cable would be connected to the "switch powered" leg of the HB TS3 switch ...

there is another way to set this up, that hasn't been mentioned. The TS3 switch is optional as mentioned, but one could also setup two , up to five si units, all sharing si, si with di from si, and dedicated di.all units must be network ed via the 5 port ethernet switch
(Add a 360 to this setup and well, things get really kool.if your not careful, you won't have time to fish)
