I have a Lowrance so this may not apply. I swapped out and Elite 7 for an HDS touch 7 using the same transducer that was with the Elite 7. Got on the water and no DI. Finally gave up and called Lowrance. There is a menu where you select the type transducer and I somehow missed seeing the one that I had. Once I selected the correct transdcuer everything started working. At least with Lowrance, there are several different transducers that will interchange with different model DFs.
The HDS 7 came from the factory with a different one selected.
I have had several HBs and don't remember having to do this so it may not apply to HBs.

Make sure the correct transducer is selected under the sonar tab.

I've been waiting for DD to answer this question before I weigh in. I hate it when he comes back and corrects me on here. Its plumb embarrassing.

Completely shut down and disconnect power. Reboot and by God it works. Had a glitch
