Check the cabins in the park. They are on north side of lake and pretty decent with kitchenette. If they have one open better reserve it cause they go quick.

If you are taking a camper we stayed right next to the spill way below the dam.
No camper, pulling my boat. So I need a place that is boat friendly and be able to charge batteries.

Like Cray said, the cabins at John Kyle State Park are pretty good but they fill up fast. You might also try Chickasaw Cabins just west of the dam. They are fairly new and pretty nice.
