What was the water temp and how deep was the water you were fishing?

I got out early on Sunday morn, ( did church Sat night)
I struggle out there from 7:30-12:30, with minnows and jigs, fishing most of my favorite brush piles and lay downs.
I had 7 that I could have kept but in the end, I just returned them all. Plus, none had a any real size to them....
Sooooooo,
Where are we in terms of the crappie migration back to deeper water?
From where I fish, it looks like they are moving off the brush. My summer pattern is fading fast.
But it could have just been a bad day out there. I did see plenty of fish on and above the brush, just not biting.
Thoughts?

Now you know I got em all penned up just for me Sat night !![]()
The water will have to get down in the low 50's to 40's before they go real deep. They are still chasing the bait around feeding up for the winter but you will have to cover a lot of water because they will be on the move instead of holding in the brush like they have all summer. Right now look for bait, after finding bait you will have to work to find the depth they will bite at and to find the jig they want. Changing colors does make a difference now. Burdawg and myself went to Clark Hill last year and I believe we used every jig size, jighead color and tied and plastic we had in the boat to catch our limit. We would find a combo that would work on one or two fish and had to change to catch another. We caught some real nice slabs that day and was fishing blind, I forgot to load my Humminbird and left it in my truck. Burdawg pulled my boat and I did remember it about an hour from the houseStill a fun day. Just don't give up on them.
On another note the night bite is red hot right now
Some pics from that trip,

Wow guys, they look like hosses to me. Nice job, guess we don't need all the fancy electronics after all.
Ronnie I will pull your boat anywhere you want to go if you will teach me how to catch slabs like that.
