Thread: Elk hunt 2014 in Arkansas live

Well what a morning this was to be. Got up extra early and made the drive to where I had found elk two weeks ago. I was greeted by hoot owls and the sounds of nature as I sat in my truck awaiting the morning sun to rise. I heard a faint bugle of an elk I thought to my self as the birds chirped in my ear. I donned my white walking shoes, grabbed my hunter orange vest and hat. I loaded my .17 hmr in case I saw a coyote or squirrel too. I proceeded to walk up the woods road as the sounds of nature came alive and the elk thundered in the distance. As I neared the clearings I could see and hear elk everywhere. The cows were mewing and the Bulls hearding them up. I saw plenty of deer too in the small clearings. I got to the bottom of the hill and watched in awe as nature took its course and the woods came to life. I used the wind at my face to edge closer to get a better look at one of my potential victims. I practiced with my gun in haling and exhaling trying to keep her steady for when the real time comes. The elk neared and I snapped a few shots but the best ones are saved in my memory. I leave these majestic animals unscathed and none the smarter that Ol JW was even there. Until we meet again tomorrow my friends of nature. God is good and I was blessed to have a great morning scouting trip. Sure wish I could've found some one to go along with the experience, especially after the hunt when the work begins hauling out a 1000lb animal. Oh well, I will continue as my story unfolds.

Now quit reading and go catch some fish.
