I know it can vary in cost for size of boat but does anybody have a ballpark idea on the cost of replacing a transom? Thanks.CF

When I replaced my transom on my blue bomber I used solid mahogany wood. It was very expensive but very tuff!!!! I paid a hundred dollars
Ed, go ahead and start boat shopping... Hehehe, I ain't got a clue what it would cost to replace the transom on a bass boat but I bet it won't be cheap!
You got a stratos right? Take your motor off and get you a big aluminum boat

Your giant, old butt is about due for a deeper boat. Strip all the good stuff and put it on a......(wait for it).......Caralinian Skiff.
Talked to a guy a while back (~18' Stratos) that had his done by a reputable shop. They did a nice job but 3500 sounded a bit high to me. I've replaced a couple in aluminum boats and although time consuming, not an overly difficult process. The first one we used laminated cypress and it should last forever. The second one was a lot easier, we used Arjay pourable ceramic. Really the way to go. its stronger and lighter than wood, waterproof and rot proof. I know another guy that did his with seacast and claims it only took 2 evenings. Took him 2 more months to finish the paint but a little primer is OK for a fishing boat.
Do you have a picture of the transom?
why do we think it need replacement?
