I have done it using a small wind chime that I sprayed with Pam and wiped off then dipped into hot plastic in the Pyrex cup. When cooled it slides off the metal tube easier. Use a razor to cut the angle. Stuff it with crappie nibbles and go fishing.

A 20 penny nail is a big nail and should get this done with no problem. A 16 penny is too small of diameter.
